IE error

I have a win 98 OS and IE6 sp 1. Whenever I go to any site and click on to the tabs/options/choices..etc that is there on the web page, I get an error encountered in operation message and the option of sending this info to microsoft or ignore.

If i click ignore the whole page disappears.
