IE Error

By jw01234 ·
A user can't view the source code in IE. She's running IE 5.0, on top of NT4/sp6a.
Any hints?

TIA

Jeff

IE Error

Could be a few things. Does she try to right click on the frame and choose View Source or does she click on view/source?

If it's the first one and she gets an error saying that you cannot view the source, it's probably a java script that is preventing it. If it IS preventing it, keep reading.

If it's the 2nd one, and all she sees only a few lines of code, it is probably hidden in a frame. I would suggest right clicking on the portion of the web page she wants to see the code for and choosing view source.

Failing all of that, you can download Sam Spade (http://samspade.org/ssw/) which has a cool utility to walk a web page and view the source.

Somehow, someway, you have to be able to view the source. Your web browser can, right?

It fails out on both the rt click and on View>Source. There is no error message, it just doesn't show it. There are three other people on her team who do the exact same thing with the exact same hardware/software config and they have no problems. Right now she's using netscape as a workaround, but I'd like to solve this using IE, it's the user's preferred browser. Thanks!
