IE explorer nightmare

Hello..I can’t retrieve email or load any web sites using IE..i have used version 5 and 6 i have tried everything in the setting of tcp and internet options..i have reinstalled all the necessary software and modem..but still no luck…tech support has not been able to help…any suggestions? Thanks
