IE Fault?

Hi, please assist me on this...
my pc is corrupted that's y have reinstalling everything (os is win98 se). already very rushing to get it up but then this stupid problem prompted when trying to do an windows update!!! "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" and click on its details it's stated that "IExplore caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at ..."

well i would suspect spyware if you hadn't just reinstalled. how about finding a more recent copy of ie and manually upgrading ie. look for it on Quickbooks cds or download from microsoft downloads. windows update website has more tshooting tips.

Are you using IE6 SP2? I have found that this causes the error on win98 machines.
If so go to Add/Remove programs, find IE and go for remove. You will be prompted for several options including one about reverting to a previous installation. Select this and good luck.

Nope! Not IE6 SP2! I have reinstalled second time (format & reinstall with win98 se again)...seem okay this time...a bit weird i would say...anyway maybe this the MSWin usual behaviour...!!! By the way, thanks for your reply.
