IE Homepage

By ARAHIGIHS ·
I have a user that disabled the ability to choose his homepage for Internet Explorer. He doesn't know how he did it and I'm unable to find the setting to re-enable it. It's a single user PC without a separate Administrator logon.

No, even the ability to click on anything in that area relating to the homepage selection is disabled and will not allow me to click on it.

Sounds like they had a program like Start Page Guard installed.

Check out this site for a lot of good info on IE.

By the way you just got a Web Bug installed on your computer. Go to some safe download area, like Zdnet, and download Ad-aware and run it. It looks for the bugs and gives you the chance to delete them. That is why your start page got changed, unlessof course another user did it.
Good luck!

For future reference, at least for anyone that cares, I found the solution to my problem within the registry files. The answer and solution can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q320159
