IE 'pauses' when moving through forms

By wessir ·
When filling out web forms on IE 6.0.2600.0000 there is a long pause when any data entry box loses focus. It's like IE is trying to do something before it moves on to the next data entry field (or clicks a submit button). The pause is about 10-20 seconds, then it continues.

Netscape works fine. IE's installed on a Win98 system, plenty of disk space, plenty of memory. I've tried changing the IE advanced settings like turning of the VM, JIT, etc...

I have the same problem on another Win98 PC running IE 5.5 Virus? Setting? Or something else???

Have you turned off 'auto-complete', It sounds like you have an applet trying to run in the background. OR do you have your security set to 'highest' or the scan setting on your A-V software set to scan web content.

Just a thought. Hope this helps ... H
