IE shows done nothing displayed

By littlelaco ·
When trying to log into a website "done" is displayed at the bottom left of the screen but nothing is displayed. The same web site displays fine on my other computer. Any suggestions???

More Info?

Is it only one web site? or ALL?

Which O/S?

I assume your using IE - but what version?

Are the two PC'c networked? In the same way?

How do you connect to the internet?

Are the internet settings the same on both PC's?
Are you directly connected to the internet?

Behind a firewall?

Sharing an Internet connection?

I have this issue from time to time, it occures when I block a cookie that the site wants to install, when I allow it, the page opens fine. It just may be the site or how you have your settings. Just a thought....

Check the settings in Internet Explorer, Tools menu, Internet Options, Content Tab.

If content advisor is enabled and the page you are trying to load has a content rating higher than what is set in the content advisor nothing will be displayed. The real problem is that most pages on the Internet do not have a rating embedded and in this case the page is not displayed either.

If content advisor is enabled it will require a password to turn it off. If you dont know this password you will have a new problem. The password can be removed by editing the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Policies/Ratings. Delete the key in the ratings folder.

Exit registry editor and reboot.

Now go back into IE, Tools, Internet Options, Content Tab, and click the Disable button. It will allow this because there is no longer a password.

Check if your problem PC has java locked down. Some sites with heavy coding don't show up when your java engine is disabled.
