“We have an SB 4100 cable modem. I had a machine running NT 4 and now have
one running Windows 2000 (NT 5?). Anyway, I experienced the same
situation on both machines, making me think the problem may be with the
modem, or you,the cable host(heaven forbid it should be with me!). I must run
Internet Explorer at version 5.0. If I install a version greater than 5.0
then when I try to connect to a hyperlink from within a document that I
got over the internet, all I get is a blank page and no address in the
“Address” line.
I subscribe to a few technical article services and if I click on the blue
“click here for more information” or “click here for to read the full
article” hyperlink I get nothing. If I then uninstall that IE version
(5.5 or 6 or 6.2) back to version 5.0, the hyperlinks within the article
now open Internet Explorer, an address shows in the Address line, and the
article is displayed.”
This is a customer of mine running on a cable modem. Any ideas?
