IE windows problem

When I select a link that provides a redirect to another window, the window flashes on the screen and then closes. At times the delay between opening and closing is adequate to allow a glimpse of the text; however at other times the time between window opening and closing is so short that nothing loads in the window and only a frame appears. This also happens when I’m attempting to look at Help/About within IE6. Pop-up windows initiated by outside sources (web sites) cause windows to open with no apparent problem.

I have repaired and reinstalled IE6 with no success.

Is there a registry setting or some feature within IE6 that I can change to correct this action?
