IE5.01

By jduff001 ·
My boss has to maximize his IE everytime he opens it. I have searched TechNet, Microsoft's site, I cannot find any information on the problem. Microsoft says, however you close IE that is how it will open. In my boss's case that does not happen. Italways opens in a small window. Does anyone know where that setting might be? I assume in the registry but I have been unable to find it.
Thanks

I think what you have to do is, do not Maximize IE. Use your mouse and and make it larger ( going to the edges and stretch it). I don't think IE will open to maximized.

right-click on the icon, select Properties, and under Run select Maximized.

Hope that helps,

If answer 2 dos'nt work , here are other ways . John .

Sometimes Internet Explorer may have problems with it's explorer window
location, possibly placing the window off the screen or only allowing
you to minimize or maximize the window. This tweak should reset
Internet Explorer to the default position.

Exit Internet explorer, then open your registry and find the key below.

Find the value named 'Window_Placement' and delete it, make sure you
have highlighted the correct value as there is no Undo function.

Restart Internet Explorer and it should now be located in the default
position.

Registry Settings:
Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
Value Name: Window_Placement
Data Type:REG_BINARY

------------------------------------

AutoSizer ( freeware ) program to position windows automatically &
keep them there ( ie,IE5 puts new windows in different places )
It can be found here along with several other great utilities .

Hi, if I am understanding you correctly, here is what you need to do. If the window upon opening looks like a very small title bar, use the mouse & grab onto any side of it & begin to resize it to the desired size he wants, repositioning as necessary. Or if when opening, it is maximized from the start, click on the maximize button (which will actually make the window smaller since it is starting out maximized) then resize it to the desired size. This should work for your boss.

Best Regards,
Tony
