IE6 Page Not Found

By ebraunfeld ·
This happens often during the day, but only with certain websites (i.e., Ameritrade). I use ZoneAlarm Pro 5 and NAV 2005.

Can you resolve the website normally from dns with a ping command?

Does it only happen only at certain times of the day?

When it does happen, are other websites available?

If the answers are all yes, then the answer is that you have a bandwidth issue of some kind.

If the first two are yes, but the thrid question is no, then Ameritrade has a bandwidth/capacity issue.

I would be willing to guess that the bandwidth issue is on your end and not Ameritrade's.

if this used to work and nothing has changed, how about spyware?
get adaware from www.lavasoftusa. update and run in Safe mode. reboot after removing spyware and run it again. rinse repeat until no spyware found

Although it may not solve your problem, you can get some interesting information on the problem site, and see if in fact they have problems by going to http://www.dnsreport.com. Enter the problem site's URL and see what the report finds.
