IE6 problems

I am having problems pulling up pages on my IE6. Have my privacy setting at medium, DSL connection, AMD64 3000, 1GB mem, 80gb h/d, win xp pro (sp2). Sometimes it will pull up pages just fine and other times, it just takes forever to pull up home page. Please help…..
