iexplore

iexplore.exe is corrupted possibly on a section of bad sector of hard drive. Shut off the add ons on ie8, restored ie to default but still keeps shutting down, 3rd time of shutdown ie computer reboots, no viruses, etc. Tried to go back to different ie but wont let me. IE uninstall doesnt work either. All restore was wiped clean. Any answers besides total wipe? By the way xp home 2 g AMD processor 1.5 ram 150 hd
