If a printed circuit or a solder joint on a hardware part is damaged

    Dear all

    1.
If there is a microscopic gap in just one printed circuit, on a hardware part – it renders the whole hardware part useless?
If not, which hardware parts can partially work, despite one or more printed circuits being damaged?

    3.
    Could a bended hardware part
    Or
A broken circuit on a hardware part
    Or
A broken solder joint on a hardware part
    Change or influence how:
Data is created in the CPU and written to the drive?
For example, the file was written to the drive, but it would be corrupted.

    Thank you

If some part of the hardware is damaged enough to influence the way it functions, something that depends on that part might go wrong. Then you repair it or replace it.

      About corrupt data.

There’s a lot written about how to avoid losing your data. Read this article: https://www.backblaze.com/blog/the-3-2-1-backup-strategy/

Make your data “Hard To Kill”.

If you didn’t back it up, it must not have been worth saving.

I have backed up all my data on a USB drive.

Could you please try to answer my questions?

        Especially:

It could be any of the items you asked about, or it could be none of them. This issue is not easily determined without a hands-on diagnostic to determine the issue/solution. The best solution is to go to a computer repair shop if you can’t find/fix it yourself.

One more potential problem that you haven’t been able to confirm is whether the issue is on the motherboard or a expansion card (video, communications boards for example). That could easily be the issue, but we cannot determine that remotely.

I don’t think he has an issue. It’s just a theoretical question.

Time to close this strange thread that may be only hypothetical.
