“If I was only 20 years younger.” – Hokum!! …

I’ve noticed, of late, that I’m rather prone to say in a typical situation “Oh, if only I was 20 years younger..” but when I think about it what I really mean is ‘if I was the age that I’m thinking/dreaming/remembering about’.

I must have made this comment innumerable times and I’m actually telling a complete and utter untruth – I’m lying!

[i][b]The truthful comment would be “If I was only 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, … years younger”[/i][/b]

Perhaps as a species, we are resentful of the passage of time?
