IIS 6.0 Application Pools and Worker Processes

by lsoltren . Updated 20 years ago

I Have a server running several application pools, which in turn run several worker processes. When I view task manager I see that some of these worker processes are consuming huge amounts of system memory. At any given time 9 or so worker processes(wp3wp) will be running. Each is over 50mb and some are reaching as high as 293mb of memory useage. I know things can be reset and throttling, but what I want to know is…if this is normal behavior and should my worker processes be consuming so much of my systems resources? Could it be bad code? 2003 Server
