IIS and Time To Live settings...

By It's Not Easy Being Green ·
When you set Time To Live in IIS, does Site TTL's over ride folder and file TTLs or does File TTLs over ride Folder and Site TTLs??
I need some hard facts on this one so, if you have some good documentation to refer me to, We can figure out a way for a bonus 250 Tech Points.

I dont have any hard facts at this point but here's some logic. Just like folder/file security the more specific one overrides the less specific one. So in your case file TTL's will override site/folder TTL's

I thought I had answered this yesterday.
The file TTL setting is used to compare it to other files in the cache when the cache needs to be pared, the lowest ttl being the first to go. The folder ttl takes proiority otherwise. If you ask me, it's a lot of overhead for a simple file retrieval.
