IIS Server

By chandrak ·
I have windows 2000 Pro on a PC and installed IIS on it. Copied the web pages created in Front Page 2002 to the default site directory. When try to start the default site it times out. How can I get this to be working.
Other PCs on the network to be able to access this website by giving the default website path in the url address in explorer.

IIS Server

Is the WWW Service running on the Win2KPro machine? Open Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and look if the World Wide Web Publishing Service is Started. If not, then start it, then go to the default page.
If it still doesn't work, then open the Internet Services Manager, right click on Default Web Site -> Properties ->Documents tab.
Make sure the default home page for your web site is listed in the list of default pages. If not, click Add and add the file name for the default page.

hope this helps
