Illiterate corporate terms

by epepke . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

I’d like to start collecting a list of corporate terms which reflect either illiterate or nefarious use of language. Here are some to start. Please add more.

Quality Assurance
(“To assure” means to talk about something in a comforting way.)Human Capital
(Capital is property, and people have not been property in the U.S. since the middle of the 19th century.)

Human Resources
(Maybe not as bad as capital, but nearly so. Compare “natural resources.”)
