I'm Screwed

By deckert7 ·
I have a Dell XPS M140 and I just installed Wubi to get ubuntu installed. I did it, and when I went to go start Windows again, it said i needed to reinstall <windows root>\system32\hal.dll. I tried to go expand the file, but i need to put in my password for the admin. Now for some reason my password isn't the same as the admin password, and I've only had one account---mine. Someone please help, I don't know how to get my admin password without booting Windows!!!

Not necessarily

Try logging in as admin and leaving the password blank. If you did not set an admin password, there may not be one.

If this does not work, the only other suggestion I can make is to contact Dell.

Well I think it's over

I reinstalled windows in a new part of C called Windows1 (all I did was add the "1"). And then I uninstalled Wubi, so I can't use Ubuntu anymore. But now I can't access My Documents, so I'm downloading Ubuntu again, and I'm installing it without Wubi, and I'm getting My Documents back. This time I know I didn't set an Admin password. Thank you for your help though.
