iMac Facetime built in camera

The camera on my brand new imac lights green when its on (so it works), but no image projects on the screen, it goes black. I’ve tested this using photobooth, Skype, Facetime & Zoom. I’ve done troubleshooting such as unplugging, restarting, adjusting the terminal. Can’t access camera settings as it gives me no options. What’s wrong with it?

Open terminal from the utilities folder in the applications folder. Type sudo killall VDCAssistant into terminal and click enter. Then, enter sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant. That should do the trick.

Thanks for the info, but I’ve tried that. It tells me that there is no matching processes that were found after I enter my password. Looks like it’s not recognizing the camera.
