Imaged Drive Problem

By davebaxter ·
I have a new drive with an image of another drive I just installed onto it; but now I cannot seem to get this new drive with the image on it to boot in any other computer. This is honestly my first time trying to image a drive and I was just wondering how, if at all, I can get this new drive to boot in a new computer.

depending on the drive type, you mey need to set master/slave settings.

Also, if the image was from a different type of system, it may BSOD instead of boot. The OS should be installed on the system which it will be using.

The other thing is what do you mean by Image?

A HDD Image is a compressed single file that can be expanded out to another HDD to make it bootable.

A Clone is a copy of a HDD that can be used to Boot from in the same computer as the original Drive was from.
