imouse

I use intellimouse explorer 3.0 with 4 button and a scroll bar. I use the default settings. This works fine for a while but suddenly the back and forward buttons stop working.
I reset them and they work for a while, then the same thing happens again — no back nor forward.
What’s wrong??
