Implementing Redundancy

By MattCollinsUK ·
I have recently inherited control of a network and I am trying to figure out how i can implement switch/fiber redundancy into it.

We currently have one HP ProCurve 2824 at the core of our network.

Using the 3 Fiber ports and another 5 switches connected into it, along with a web filter and a email filter. (one nic on each of the filters)

Currently if that switch dies, we loose our fiber connection to other sites, and basically connection to every server.

My question is, without getting another 2 Email Filters, and 2 Web Filters, and configuring them as failover plugging onto separate switches, and investing into additional Fiber lines, how can we make this all redundant?

I cannot think of a way we can do this, then again i have limited knowledge in this area.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Many Thanks
