Importing DNS From Linux To NT 4.0

By sterryo1 ·
Can anyone suggest the best/easiest way to import DNS records from Linux to Windows NT 4.0? Our DNS server is running Yggdrasil Computing's Plug-and-Play Linux Fall 1995. We are currently running an NT domain and statically assign ip numbers for our users. We are also planning on migrating to W2K, but are not quite ready, however our DNS server is starting to show signs of hardware failure.

Importing DNS From Linux To NT 4.0

by Mostakim In reply to Importing DNS From Linux ...

As per field experience I found Bind for NT
is the best solution for this type of service
NT & Linux DNS configuration looks like same
even you can just copy those configuration file to NT system on folder named c:\var\named\ BINd installation will prompt you for c:\win32app\xxxx\ do-not use it
you can also have to edit few modification.
BIND is free from cost and best of this
