What operating system are you using? What version of Outlook?
When searching, did you type that string (C:\Documents and Settings\barryseth\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook) as a path for the search to look in, or did you simply DO a search using the SEARCH button, allowing it to look throughout the entire hard drive to see if it could find the PST file anywhere?
Also, I suspect that when you did the second detect and repair, resetting to default, it either wiped the entire drive and deleted all your files, or it created a new user. So, we’ll have to determine what is left. If the old user files are still there, you may need to take ownership of them. But, let’s take it one step at a time.
If you right click the START button and choose explore, then scroll up, how many users do you see under the Documents and Settings Folder? If you’re on WinXP, at the very minimum you should see folders for Administrator, All Users and your own username. Are there others besides these? If so, what ones? Do you see a folder for the username “barryseth”?
I am running XP. I typed in the string above.
After I did the repairs, I tried to import files. The only one that would import were a partial of my incoming messages. My sent messages and address book did not import.
When I right click on the start button etc., there are many folders here, but I do not see barryseth as a user. Folders with names on them are the admin folder, my documents folders for me and my wife, owner, and the all users folder.
