    Regarding DNS and active directory,

    What is the file WIN2KTEST.COM used for?
    Are there any reference notes explaining what the win2ktest.com file is?

      WIN2KTEST.COM isn’t really a file but a domain.
      this is also list in active directory and dns. These are domains the name win2ktest.com is really what ever you need it to be……

      win2ktest is just a name for a domain.

      .com indicates that it’s a subdomain of the COM domain. the COM domain is a subdomain of the Root domain, which is the gran daddy of them all.

      so you can have win2ktest.com. you can create subdomains, like domain1.win2ktest.com, etc.
