Hi Guys..
I am stuck in trying to find some nifty tools to accomplish two tasks on my AD Domain Controller (Windows 2003 Std SP1).
One, over time, helpdesk guys have just detached the machines from the network without undertaking a graceful disconnect from AD and then bringing the machine to workgroup, leading to about a 100 off machines being shown in my ‘computers’ OU but practically, they do not exist. How can I find out/single out all such machines which no longer exist on my network but still show up on my AD?
(* By the way, isn’t it true that if we detach an XP machine from the domain, it should stop showing itself in the AD Users and computers mmc module and we just plug it out and re-image it with some other name and re-attach it to DC, the old name would remain in my AD for a long time?*)
Then, I also need a quick look up on which AD username is currently logged onto which hostname?
Pls advise on how can I accomplish these two things?
