“incoming connections” limited to 19200

by amagoon . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

My -Incoming Connections- network properties only allows a maximum of 19200 bps using “Communications cable between two computers”

I need to change this to at least 57600.

You can create one of these connections: Start -> Settings -> Networkand Dialup Connections -> Make New Connection -> Accept incoming connections

There’s nothing incorrect with my Serial Port in Device Manager, and win update confirmed i am using the latest serial port device driver.

Strangely enough, other programs such as Hotsync allow me to use higher speed connections.

Hotsync and ActiveSync are not running, so they are definitely not causing the problem.

What I need to know is how Windows 2000 decided on 19200 as being the max rate for this serial port, and how or where I may fix this (registry?)
