"Incoming Connections" ??

By pierrejamme ·
Recently on my home computer Win2kSP4 I noticed an "Incoming connections" link in the Start/Settings menu. I realize there is such a connection used for remote computer management and or VPN. I had not set up either. Does anyone know how this got installed on my program menu?
Was it when I installed the SP4 Tools?
Though I might have Backdoor Trojan so ran very thorough McAfee with sdat4300 and found nothing.
I did have Zonealarm 4, but uninstalled it when I had a bad Windows Update, could it be from that?

In my opinion, if you ran a virus scan and came up with nothing, you might want to get a firwall back on there (ZoneAlarm, Sygate, etc. Once installed, you will probably have to tell the program to allow/deny programs on your machine that are trying to access the internet, so you may notice something then.

Also, you might want to install a program called Ad-Aware. Basically, it's a "spyware" scanner, that searches your pc for nasty little programs that typically get dumped on people's computers while surfing the web. The programs usually "listen" to the sites you visit and then broadcast information back to advertisers for marketing data. It's free for personal use and is one of the best tools out there, in my opinion.

Hope this helps.
