I have a problem regarding USB port detection. Whenever i connect my external hard drive or pen drive to my system, it doesn’t detect it. When i check “My computer” no new drives are detected. The problem is this happens inconsistently. Although the beep sound is audible whenever i attach the device, but device is not detected. This happens most of the times but sometimes it does detect. I am really not gauging this problem as when i attach the device to the machine and then boot it, it definitely detects it. But otherwise it doesn’t detect and my PC hangs and i need to do a hard restart 🙁
