Incorrect mailbox size in Outlook.

by mikehoke . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

I have a user that is having a problem with storage limits in Outlook. When I view the total mailbox size it shows a little over 11MB. When you look at all the folders individually they only equal up to a little over 1MB. It seems that there is 10MBof storage space used up that we cannot recover. In the folder size window it lists folder size (which is the properties of the selected folder) and total folder size (which are the properties of the selected folder and all the subfolders under it).The folder size for this user is listed at 10MB and the total folder size is listed at a little over 11MB. It seems that the Outlook today folder has 10MB in it but we cannot determine where it is. There are no filters applied that might not let us view them. Every other mailbox that we look at the folder size on is listed at 0k and the only place that shows anything is the total folder size. This user has Outlook98 but we also have a user with Outlook2000 with the same problem but with only 3MB of used space. We are running Exchange 5.5 with SP4 installed. The machines are both Windows NT. I have searched TechNet and also the MS Knowledge Base and have not been able to find a solution. Any ideas?
