Increase Parition Size

By jgreer ·
How can I increase the size of the boot partition on an HP server running Windows NT 4.0. I am told that I can do this without purchasing Parition Magic or anything. The current size is 4GB and I need it to be 8GB. Steps would be appreciated.

Hi,

Unfortunately, despite what you've been told, there is no way to do this without the aid of a third party partition manipulation program such as Partition Magic.

The best you can do with the native tools is to pre-create an 8GB partition, format it, and install NT into this partition from scratch.

Cheers,
Tim.

The first answer given is correct, you will not be able to resize the partition without using a third party utility such as partition magic or partition commander.

During research there were no utilities that would perform the task you are seeking.
