If you use hardwere array solution, you can add disks to the array but not increase storage space (you can create new logical drive). The only way to do it, is backing up all data in the partition/logical drive, add disks to the array and re-make the partition.
If you use soft solution I don’t know how to do it, I think it’s in the some way.
Note: You can increase storage space but lost parity data.

In a mirrored environment, you need to add drives two at a time (assuming you intend to have the new storage mirrored like the existing drives). First, of course, you install the drives in the computer and connect them correctly to the drive controller. Then you will need to configure the drives in the system. If you are using a hardware RAID solution, this is done from the RAID card’s BIOS, if not, you would use Disk Admin. or whatever other storage manager you have on your system, dependingon the OS. If you are using RAID5, you install the drive into the machine and physically connect it to the array controller, and then use either the card’s BIOS or a software tool to add the drive to the array. NOTE: The new storage space will bea separate PARTITION from the existing one(s). If you want to add space to an existing PARTITION, either in RAID1 or 5, you have to use a partition management software solution like PartitionMagic from PowerQuest (www.powerquest.com). Hope this helps!
