Increment member number in MS Access

by jjstccean . Updated 16 years, 2 months ago

I’m not certain how this is done, can some one please assist me? I’m looking to use the Initials of a new member’s firstname and lastname when the record gets keyed in…and having the number auto increment based on the current previous number?????

Example below

Incrementing automatically
Corporate Members = CORPNJS0001
Corporate Members = CORPAP0002
Corporate Members = CORPAN0003

Incrementing automatically
Standard Members = STDNJS0001
Standard Members = STDAP0002
Standard Members = STDAN0004

The Initials will change automatically for “Koos, Stefaan van der Merwe” and also the number. If this guy signs on and as the 500th corp/std member, his member number becomes:
Corporate Members = CORPKS0500
Standard Members = STDKS,/b>0500

Any help is greatly appreciated.
