    Index tuning error on MS SQL server

    Locked

    by grrrkid ·

    Everytime I try to run the Index tuning wizard over a particular set of queries I get the following:

    “Error analyzing query(62)”. I have looked this up in technet and BOL and searched far and wide for answers. I can’t find any reference to this error anywhere. Does anyone know what it means and/or how to solve it?

    It seems to only happen for a particular table, but the table structures are fine, dbcc, etc gives a good result.

    Help me if you can.

    Regards,
    GK

      I found this in Technet: It was a VB article found by searching for Query near 62. The error could make sense in your database situation.

      Case ErrInputPastEndOfFile ‘ Error 62
      strMsg = “This file has a nonstandard end-of-file marker, ”
      strMsg= strMsg & “or an attempt was made to read beyond ”
      strMsg = strMsg & “the end-of-file marker.”
      Case Else

      Since event class 62 for traces is ?replay error?, it would make sense that a replay error is the cause of your problem. Check out Replaying Traces in BOL for some possible sources of errors.

      Hope this helps.

      you say it occures in a particular table?, why not try sp_table_validation, to check row count or checksum differences
