Indexing services

Hi,

I understand that Win2K is in a constant state of indexing the files on the harddisk in order to improve its search times when asked to find files.

(1) Now is there a way to stop this process so that my harddisks will stop spinning ?

(2) Will stopping this indexing service cause any problems?
