Industry Standard for Availability SLAs?
Does anyone have any good resources of "industry" standards when it comes to setting application or service availability SLA targets
My company is currently in a high growth mode, and in the continuing effort of highlighting IT value, we are currently in the process of establishing IT application & service availability metrics.
In our recent past we focused on build and deploy. As we continue to grow, our focus is now shifting to scalability, and high quality servicability. I am in need of some examples of benchmark availability metrics. While we are in the process of developing Business to IT SLA's, we need some realistic examples of "like" companies" and what they are measuring. We are struggling with inventing the wheel a bit. Obviously the business wants zero downtime. We present costs, but the question of "what kind of SLA's do other companies have" always comes up. Having "some" reference data would be extremely helpful.
Thanks
Matt
