Initials wrong after renaming user account in AD

By caers ·
Hey all,

At a client site, they had a staff member leave and another take their place. The new user required access to all the previous user's documents and permissions, so I renamed the account.

Everything works well, except for a minor cosmetic issue. In Outlook, the autocomplete shows the correct name, but the initials in brackets are those of the previous account holder. In other words, the autocomplete menu shows this "Joe Blo (MR)", with MR being the initials of the previous user.

This happens on workstations with Outlook 2003, and it doesn't seem to be related to the Autocomplete cache as it does it on users' profiles that have never sent email to this person.

I can't find the previous user's initials anywhere in the AD account... where might it be getting these from?

The server is 2003 SBS SP1 / Exchange 2003 SP2 and the clients are using Outlook 2003 SP2 on Windows XP SP2.
