Insert a Chart in a Comment.

By zimonar ·
To insert my chart in a comment, I cut my chart and I paste it in Paint, and I only see the pattern in black and white, but I don't see my chart in paint to save it as picture and insert in comment.
What I do, I print screen, paste in paint, select my chart, paste the selection and save it as picture to insert in comment. Impossible to select the data marker or data series or gridlines that are inside the comment!!!
- My question is, if there is another way to insert the chart in a comment that allows me to select the data marker or data series or gridlines of the chart inside the comment, if I need to change their format?
Thank you!

I'm not sure what application you are referring to. In MS Word 2003, you can place an editable chart in a comment in the same way you would place it anywhere else in a document. I tried two methods. First, you can use Insert | Picture | Chart. Word creates a placeholder chart. If you double-click it, you can paste your own data series into the data table. Change the row and column headings. Your own data will reflect in the resulting chart.

Second, you can copy a chart in Excel and (in Word) use Edit | Paste Special | Microsoft Office Excel Chart Object. You may either paste the chart or a link to the chart.

With either approach, the chart is likely to be larger than the comment balloon that appears by default at the right margin of your document. You can change the size and other characteristics of the comment balloon by selecting Tools | Options. Select the Track Changes tab and then edit the settings in the Baloons group to give your chart sufficient room. Adding extra horizontal space will not adjust your actual document margins, but you may need a wide, high-resolution monitor to see your document content and the wider comment, if your chart is large.

Great! Excellent idea! But can you tell me please how to fix it in the comment to make them move together? Group and Regroup are not available in Shortcut menu. I try to group them like in AutoShapes and it won?t work for the chart with comment!
