How do I install a CD-RW in my p/c
This will be an extra one so now I will have 2 drives; do you have to change anything in your in your settings;

remove the existing CD Rom drive. Set the jumper on the rear to Slave. Fit the CDRW in the highest point in the case, making sure the jumper is set to Master.

Connect the drives using a triple IDE cable. The master (CDRW) should be on the end of the cable and the cd-rom in the centre.

Enter your BIOS and ensure the secondary master and secondary slave IDE Settings are set to Auto-detect.

Boot machine....CDRW should now be drive D and CD should be drive E, assuming you only have one hard disk drive. Install CDRW software and have fun!

Check where the old cdrom is connected .

if it is connected to the hdd which is ide 0,
pluge in the cdrw in ide1 using the new ide cable .

or

if it is connected alone in ide 1 , check the old cd rom if it is master ::H , or slave :H: . Just change the jumper and walllaaaaa

make the cdrw a slave via jumpers go into bios and have it autodetect youre device depends on which operating system you are using hook up the cdrw to the last end on youre cd cable in other words daisy chain install and turn on dont button up yet as u may have to do a little toubleshooting nothing diffucult follow diagrams and have fun install software then burn baby burn
