I am trying to install a Samsung SATA DVD-RW drive, SH-S183A, on an already installed Windows XP installation — with an A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard — but it doesn’t get detected after Windows has started up.
My 3 hard disks are all connected via the IDE 2 channels, the DVD-RW will be the only SATA device on the system. I have tried both SATA1 and SATA2 channels, but no cigar…
