Install File/Print Sharing from cmd line

By jason ·
Does Windows 2000 have the capability to install the File and Printer Sharing service from a command line.

I have a network of about 50 Windows 2000 workstations that I need to deploy Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition to. The AV software has the ability to push the client to the workstations from one utility. However, it requires File and Printer Sharing to be installed.

With a command-line, I could probably write a logon script if that will work.

Norton corporate has the hability to force install only on NT Wkst 4 client. Else, you need to manually install others os clients.

And to command line install printers...
Maybe by copying driver on a share forlder, and asking logon script to runc.....\install.exe ?

I'm looking to install the File and Printer Sharing service, not a printer.

I'm afraid this is going to require a visit to each PC. I could be wrong, but to my knowledge there's no way to add a major OS component like F&P sharing during login.

Yet another reason I'm glad we use Sophos.
