Install Office 97 on Win 2000 computer

I have many problems with Office 97 on Win 2K Pro computers after joining a new Windows 2000 domain server.
I ask for a good practice to use when installing MS Office 97 on a new computer so I will have no problems after. Is it better to install ita the user administrator ou as a user with administrative rights ? In the past, I was installing it as a user with administrative rights and I had no problems. But our new technicians install it as the user administrator and we have many problems.What is the better way to install it ?

1. Install Windows 2000
2. Instal Windows 2000 SP2
3. Install Office 97 as administrator
4. Install Office 97 SP1

Install Office 97 as Administrator. Then install the latest SP Upgrade ( 2b works best).

We've been using W2K with Office 97 & Outlook 2002 (XP) for the past year or so. Have not had many problems.

Make sure when you install office that it is installed under admin or user w/admin rights. Once installed, Open word, excel, access, powerpoint, and Outlook under the profile that it was installed. This needs to be done because an admin or a member of has to open these apps first in order for the rest of all profiles to go smoothly. e-mail me if you have any other probs!

Join computer to the network. Make sure it is working. Install service pack 2, install office 97 as administrator.

Run several application under administrator just to test it.

I have no problem encountered using Office97 and Win2K. If you have installed Office 2000 and uninstall, then installed Office97, there might be some problem with Access. You would need to check to Microsoft web-site to retrieve aclicens.exe, to allow usage of Access.

The better way is installing MS Office 97 as a user with administrative rights. BTW - if your new technicians must solve problems with software (after installing it) - let them work as they want
