install Win2K from DOS prompt!

By Bruno Fonseca ·
I already copied all the drivers to the local hardrive but It's been a while since I have re-installed a windows 2000 pc and wanted to know where do I go now. It keeps telling me I can't run the SETUP command from the harddrive under DOS. How can I get it up and running.

You may need to create a W2K startup disk.

There is a utility on the CD to create one, or you can download an image from the links at www.bootdisk.com

You can also boot from the W2K CD, and run setup from there.

Are you trying to install over a network ?... or do you have the 2000 cd?..

if so.. the cd is bootable.. set the BIOS settings to boot from cd 1st and simply restart the machine with the 2000 cd in it... it will prompt you from there
