install Win2k over linspire4.5

new machine has linspire4.5, attempt to install win2k over. During boot, noticed error “IDE channel 1 80 pin conductor not installed. during setup, received error codes -i/o 3200- multiple times. Final result:win2k would not install. As new out of box machines (4) I assumed there would be proper cabling, tried to uninstall linspire4.5 and had some results.
