Can anyone help? I’ve been trying to install a clean copy of Win XP Pro SP2 from slipstream CD to an SCSI HDD to create a dual boot in my system. I have downloaded the most current driver and .inf files for my Fireport40 SCSI adapter, and pressed F6 during the setup Process. I’ve inserted a floppy containing txtsetup.oem file, created with guidance by other experts, together with all necessary drivers. I’ve disconnected the SCSI scanner that also is connected to the Fireport40 adapter.
After at least 50 attempts at this install, Windows setup recognizes every other drive in the system except the SCSI.
I have two HDDs internally (IDE and SCSI) and two external. (Firewire IDE and eSATA).
Incidentally, the SCSI HDD has been in use for a number of years, has been cleaned (not reformatted) and is always recognized in a regular boot. The Fireport40 adapter is recognized at POST. The SCSI HDD and Scanner are both recognized at POST. But setup refuses to recognize the disk. I have reached the limit of my knowledge and experience and ask for any suggestions anyone may have.
Thanks.
