Run scandisk in command prompt with a surface scan option. If you have a bad sectors the the only solution is to replace the disk.
Anycase, why install NT4 ..? Try to upgrade your OS to 2000/2003 ... Your hardware will support it ..

Good Luck !!

I think for winNT,the maximum size of the installable partition should be less than 8GB. So just make 4gb as your winnt partition and try installing. this should work for you.. :)

40 gig hard drive is the problem. If you can set the 40 gig to work with NT (through your
advanced hard drive setup software) this my solve the problem. If not, try installing NT and when prompted convert the 40gig to NTFS.
If that doesn't work try reducing the hard drive partition to only 8gig (or 4gig fat and the rest NTFS). Why 4gig fat? Because it's harder to troubleshoot a corrupted NTFS system drive partition...hope this helps....
