As you may be aware, Orinoco does not support Linux. They only support Windows and Mac.

They suggest checking out this "How-To"
http://www.ibiblio.org/mdw/HOWTO/Ethernet-HOWTO.html

Remove ANY spaces from the pasted link.

Personally, I would do the following:

Upgrade to Red-Hat Linux 9.
The newer kernel should have better support for wireless.
This is the last version that Red-Hat will offer as a free download. So you should get it while you can.

Go with a different brand wireless card that SPECIFICALLY offers Linux support.

wipe the hard drive, install windows 2000 or xp, slap the wireless card in.

voila!

Orinoco is fully supported by almost all of the newer distros, sourceforge.net also has alot of information about wireless requirements.

Your best bet is to download a newer distro and have your lan card in when you install, I have tried RH 9.0, Mandrake 9.2 and Lindows 4.5 and they all work but I prefer the Mandrake distro.

You definetly need to upgrade to Redhat 9. You also need to make sure that the card you are using is compatible. I use a linksys 11/mb card and it works great. I have tried to get thier 54 g card working...no go.
