Installation of an internal zip drive

By total geek ·
I have installed an internal zip drive 100MB into a pc. The problem now is is that everyday at some point in time, it crashes. OS is Win 98 SE. Can anyone tell me why this would be happening please?

Look forward to a response

Regards

Mil

Open the Control Panel,go to Systems ans then Device Manager tab check for exclamation marks that may cause a conflict.
The other thing is that you may have outdated drivers, update the drivers from the manufacturers web site.

another hint that may work:
uninstall the mfr's drivers, if installed. try using the default drivers that come with windows. they often are not as fast nor will they have any of the extras but tend to be more stable.
yet another suggestion:
if it is installed as a b: floppy, try installing it as a removable hard drive or vice versa. this change is done through the jumpers at the back of the drive itself.
